DayTrade: Short UPST +3.3%

Today is FED day.  They announced at 2pm, and I was going to hedge by buying longs, but instead I decided to just go naked, and day trade on the short as well. My choice was UPST. It was VERY hard for me, because I had already miss-traded it yesterday, playing long, and it faded.
But the tape felt weak, so I fought the urge of trying again for a rally, but went with the theme of UPST current storyline- weakness.  I double checked the level 1 books and again it was thin.  Stock rallies on a thin tape, and you have to stomach it.  Then as the market turned and spiralled into the close, it took UPST with it.  I closed out most of the short, but held 1/4 for a swing trade.  I’ll continue to swing short UPST nad AI until we get fundamental news that will bottom the market.

Few errors in my trading today.  I let the slow rally eat away my profits.  I was down almost 1% on this trade.  I could have exited and re-entered around 33.20.

What I did correctly:  scaled in.  Although the stock went against me, I was only at 1/4 position.  When the buying faded, I went 2x on the short.  Also, on my first position, I did not jump in blindly near the low of the day, rather I set a .75% spread on a short sell limit.  It hit, but it spiked right through it.  I could have raised my short limit a few more times during the rally, but with this choppy tape with 1% swings in UPST, I felt to just wait it out and let the price come to me.
