Day-Trade LONG UPST +4%, Short SOXL -1%

Today we saw tech rally.  I wasn’t convinced of it in the morning, so I felt I had to hedge my longs (I flipped TSLA from short to long on Friday), just in case TSLA would fade.  Well I got stopped out SOXL fast.

Meanwhile, my UPST entry was good, I bought it early, then on a failed breakout I cut it in half.  Keeping the rest on was a good move because  the entire tech space and beat down stocks proceeded to squeeze upward.   In the end, I ended up around 4% in UPST, but at only 1/3 of my usual position- this is again due to my not being convinced we would have a strong rally.

I think the best moves I made in the morning was step on the side with my swing shorts – I sold SQQQ and covered TECL before the rally.  But I did keep TNA short.

In the end, I closed out flat, which was great considering I was 80/20 short the market.   If we rally tomorrow I’ll let go of the breaks and just barrel through the bears.
