9/14/23 Light Volume Melt Up

We got the light volume melt up, but my swing shorts moved faster than my day trade longs. I put up yesterdays profits +100 as a stop, so that’s what I managed. The tape will continue to kick bears down the stairs, so riding that out is rough. I took a day trade long position in $CVNA to ease the pain, and it worked out as planned. My one mistake was going against my original idea of melting $COIN up, and bet against it, and I got candled-sticked. There were some moments in the morning when the bids just flew past the previous bar. It was getting frustrating, but I managed to sustain a loss by reshorting at a better position. In retrospect, it would have been better to just went long along with the Nasdaq.
CVNA setup a nice bear trap. I had a strong feeling there would be bears trying to short the relief rally. It really felt it was going to fill the gap, as a lot of the stock’s decline was caused by prfoit taking in first 30 minutes of trading.

Sure enough, it happened, in manner and in time. Look at that big break for 2% above 55.20. If the market had opened longer I’m confident CVNA would have filled that entire morning gap.

Anyway I have to finish packing. I forgot how impossible it was to pack for an overseas vacation. Everything seemed so easy in my mind. Why are the days leading up to a vacation so stressful!
